SCIENCE
behind

REVITALISING POWER
Vitamin C is one of the most well-known and most powerful ingredients used in skincare due to its diverse spectrum of activity. Vitamin C has excellent antioxidant potential, scavenging free radicals caused by UV radiation, air pollution or stress. It effectively brightens dark spots and hyperpigmentation as it inhibits the activity of an enzyme responsible for melanin production. Vitamin C stimulates collagen formation, visibly improving skin quality and elasticity. Among its benefits is its photoprotective effect, as it diminishes the intensity of skin reaction to UV radiation and helps repair damaged skin cells. Multi-active Vitamin C amplifies the effects of anti-ageing and rejuvenating treatments, notably restoring the skin’s youthful radiance.1

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE FOR VITAMIN C EFFECTIVENESS?
Vitamin C instability. In skincare formulations, a commonly used form is L-ascorbic acid, sensitive to oxidation by UV radiation, extreme temperatures, or oxygen. It can also be irritating at high concentrations, providing significant discomfort for sensitive skin or after treatments. To meet patients’ expectations regarding the high quality and efficiency of the molecule, Neauvia specialists have selected the newest generation of vitamin C, with superior stability and a balanced pH, namely 3-ethyl ascorbic acid.2
